South Korean President Delivers Speech at Tsinghua

South Korean President Park Geun-hye visited Tsinghua University on June 29th and delivered a speech entitled “"Striding to a new period of two decades, a trip of confidence between South Korea and China". Chinese Vice Premier Liu Yandong, Vice Minister of Education Hao Ping, Chinese ambassador to South Korea Zhang Xinsen, South Korean Foreign Minister YUN Byung-se, South Korean Ambassador to China KWON Young-se, Tsinghua University President Chen Jining, Tsinghua University Council Chairman Hu Heping, Tsinghua University Vice President Xie Weihe, Tsinghua University Vice President Yuan Si, and Tsinghua University Council Vice Chairperson Shi Zongkai attended the speech.

In her speech, Park said she was pleased to address students from Tsinghua and talked about the future ties between South Korea and China. She called for more cultural and personal exchanges between the youth of the two countries.

South Korean President Park Geun-hye said that mutual trust between leaders and their people could lead to good bilateral relations.

Drawing from her own personal experiences, Park Geun-hye urged young people in China to live an upright life and to forge ahead. She wished students a bright future.

After the speech, Tsinghua University presented Park Geun-hye with a model of the university’s old school gate. She was also given a calligraphy work by Feng Youlan.
